About this service
Most tone of voice documents get used twice: once when they are presented, and never again. They get put in a shared drive, linked from an onboarding doc nobody reads, and quietly ignored every time someone writes an email or social post. We build voice guides that get used because we build them against real use cases.
The output of a brand voice project is a document, but the input is a series of conversations: with you, with your team, sometimes with your customers. We need to understand how you speak naturally before we can formalise it. We need to know what your brand gets wrong in its current copy before we can prescribe what right looks like.
A livecopywriting brand voice guide covers: positioning statement, audience definition with specific language examples, tone spectrum (how formal or casual in which contexts), vocabulary guide (words to use, words to avoid, common mistakes your sector makes), and template examples showing the voice applied to five to eight real-world scenarios.
The scenarios matter. Abstract voice guidelines produce abstract copy. When you can see the voice applied to a LinkedIn post, a rejection email, a product description, and a website headline, you understand the voice in a way you cannot from reading principles alone.
Brand voice project: 3-4 weeks. Includes workshop, research, first draft, and revision rounds.
